He graduated in Clarinet with full marks from the "A.Boito" Conservatoire in Parma. He perfected his studies in the "G.Verdi" Conservatoire in Milan, studying with Bruno Zanolini and gaining a diploma in composition in 1993. He went on to study with Adriano Martinolli in 1994 and was awarded a diploma in Conducting.
Subsequently, he perfected his skills with M° Daniele Gatti at the “Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” in Rome where, at the end of his two-year course, he has been selected to conduct in the final concert. This allowed him to take part in the 1997 and 1998 seasons as a guest Conductor of this Orchestra (Beethoven's “first symphony”, Stravinsky's “Les Noces” and “Mass” and Pizzetti's "Three Choral Pieces").
At the same time, he was invited to conduct the Sanremo Symphony and it was the beginning of a special artistic affinity. He took part during three seasons with them (from 1999 up to 2001), conducting German Romantic and modern Russian repertoire.
Since 1990 he has conducted the following orchestras on several occasions: Stradivari Orchestra, Orchestra Vivaldi, Il Quartettone, Wiener Kammerorchester, Milano classica, I Filarmonici del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and various other symphony orchestras including “La Verdi” Orchestra, Milan, “I Pomeriggi musicali Orchestra di Milano”, ORT-Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Comunale di Cagliari, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia and ONF - Orchestre Nazional de France, working with famous soloists such as Ramin Bahrami, Gyorgy Sandor and Boris Petrushansky.
He has taken part in the international Festival of contemporary music in Fano (Italy) where he conducted Stravinsky's ballet “Apollon Musagète”, collaborating with I Virtuosi Italiani Chamber Orchestra and the New York City Ballet. In 2001 he was invited to conduct “Don Giovanni” at the Osimo Opera Festival in Italy.
From 2008 to il 2012, he was assistant conductor to Daniele Gatti, with cover-conducting duties, collaborating and realizing important new opera productions such as “Macbeth” (2008) Semperoper in Dresden, “Aida” (2008/9) Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and Metropolitan Opera House in New York, “Falstaff” (2009) Thèatre des Champs-Elysèes in Paris, “Elektra” (2010) and “Boheme” (2012) at the Salzburg Festspiele where he also held the position of music stage director, collaborating with Wiener Philharmoniker. In all of these productions he held rehearsals and was in charge of musical direction, working in close contact with famous international singers such as Anna Caterina Antonacci, Anna Netrebko, Piotr Beczala, Massimo Cavaletti, Carlo Guelfi, Dolora Zajick, Waltraud Meier, René Pape and Johann Botha.
In 2011 he began collaborating with the prestigious Orchestre Nationale de France rehearsing the stage music from Mahler/Gatti cycle (Second symphony and Das Klagende Lied). In 2002 he was invited to Radio France season to conduct ONF in the world premiere of the new work "Le Retour du Loup" by A.Markèas.
From 2019 is resident cunductor of OSCoM - Milan Conservatory Symphony Orchestra.
