Teaching career

From 1997 to 2006 he was professor of Chamber music for wind instruments repertoire at the Conservatory of Music “G.P. da Palestrina” in Cagliari (Italy). In this Music University he was also the Music Director and the Budget Administrator of the Music department’s Laboratory “I Fiati del Conservatorio di Cagliari”. This is a special academic project supported by public regional funds and focused, on the one hand, on the promotion of XVII/XIX centuries chamber music for large wind ensembles (with music by Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Stravinsky, Hindemith, Lachner, Francaix, R. Strauss, Myslivcheck, Respighi), and on  the other hand, on improving the performance skills of the best students coming from the surrounding region.

This project produced, in seven years, more than 20 different concert programs, and about 50 performances all over Sardinia, in cooperation with the Cagliari Opera House (season 2003-04). The historic legacy of this project is the production of two compact discs: I. Stravinsky’s Suite from “Histoire du Soldat” and Mozart’s Serenata for winds “Granpartita” KV 365.
